I sidste nummer løb Surferen ind i Spider-Man og det kom der ikke noget godt ud af. I dette er det så Flammen det gælder. Det overhører Surferen, der klog af tidligere skade (se de sidste 14 numre) har en mistanke om, at der nok er skumle, skidt-for-ingenting og agressive tanker bag. Han flyver skyndsomt bort i foragt, men efterfølges af Johnny, og hurtigt vinkles de ind i en forviklet forvirring af misforståelser og fejltrin og en kamp begynder mellem dem. Surferen vinder nemt og overlegent, men overhører efterfølgende den overvundne Johnny tale med militæretog finder ud af at, de blot ville have Surferens hjælp med deres rumprogram.

Helt sikkert den dårligste historie i dette 18 nummers run på serien. Ikke at der ikke er ting at holde af og frydes over, men fortællingen er ret så ligegyldig, på trods at twistet med, at det nu er Surferen der misforstår og tror det værste på forhånd.
Og så gider jeg ikke se Surferen kæmpe mod, med al respekt, letvægtere som Spidey og Flamey. Jeg ved godt at Surferen tilsyneladende har fået sine kræfter lidt afkortet (FF #72), men hey – jeg vil se ham mod trusler større end den menneskelige tændstik, han har trods alt kæmpet mod både The Stranger og Mephisto …. åhhhh Mephisto, kommer du ikke snart tilbage … pleeeease.
